Miuccia Prada’s Spring 2014 Collection was upbeat and colorful. Her sparkly, multi-colored designs were informed by the work of a number of contemporary artists, and so was the space where she showed her work. Prada commissioned artists Gabriel Specter, El Mac, Pierre Mornet, Stinkfish, and Jeanne Detallante to interpret the themes of femininity, representation, power, and multiplicity. A number of the dresses and fur coats had the faces of the women in those artworks applied to them, and others were affixed with trompe l’oeil bustiers covered in glittering plastic stones.
