As we begin the new week, I’d like to share with you one of my favorite at home skincare remedies. As we all know, taking care of our skin is very important, but not everyone has the time or money to make weekly trips to the salon or splurge on fancy facial masks. However, despite the craziness of our busy lives, your skin care routine doesn’t have to be as complicated! By using a few simple ingredients that can be found in your kitchen, you can achieve great looking skin while using all natural ingredients.
For this particular facial you will need:
- Honey (3 tablespoons)
- Nutmeg (1 teaspoon)
- Cinnamon (1 teaspoon)
Simply mix all three ingredients together in a small mixing bowl and apply to face. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes then rinse off with lukewarm water. You can apply this facial a few times a week or as frequently as you like. It is important, however, to note that each ingredient has several benefits for your skin.
For instance, cinnamon is known for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which can be useful in fighting acne. Cinnamon can also be used to prevent fine lines by plumping the skin, and can reduce the look of aging by increasing collagen levels. It also helps improve complexion and soothe dry skin.
Honey, on the other hand, is clarifying because it opens up pores and makes them easy to unclog. Honey is also extremely moisturizing and is great for achieving a glowing complexion in addition to acting as a natural antiseptic.
Finally, nutmeg benefits the skin by acting as an exfoliant as well as another agent to help soothe acne. It is also very high in antioxidants and can help reduce scarring.
